The MICHELIN Guide Gave These West Hollywood Hotels Top Honors
The MICHELIN Guide announced its latest list of top-rated hotels in the United States on Thursday, featuring six West Hollywood hotels among California’s best. This is the second-ever announcement of MICHELIN Keys in the U.S., expanding the selection beyond its original focus on select locations.
This list of the most outstanding hotels in the country comes four years into a comprehensive refresh of their hotel selection. The MICHELIN Guide now includes over 5,000 hotels across the world, and not a single one is simply a room for the night.
These are places that significantly add to your experience as a traveler, each vetted and judged excellent in five categories: architecture and interior design, quality and consistency of service, overall personality and character, value for the price, and a significant contribution to the guest experience in a particular setting.
California leads the way with the most Key hotels in the U.S., with highlights such as the Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur and beachside resorts in Santa Monica. However, the announcement included a mix-up: two hotels listed in West Hollywood were misidentified. The iconic Chateau Marmont, which earned Two Keys, is technically located in Los Angeles, not West Hollywood, reducing the WeHo total in that category to just one hotel, The Pendry West Hollywood, located at 8430 Sunset Blvd.
Additionally, while six West Hollywood hotels were initially listed with One Key honors, the guide incorrectly counted the Palihouse West Hollywood, which is located in Los Angeles. The accurate number of One Key hotels in West Hollywood is five. Palihouse West Hollywood is located at 8384 W 3rd St, Los Angeles, CA 90048.
The five WeHo One Key hotels include:
- Chamberlain Hotel – 1000 Westmount Dr.
- Hotel 850 SVB – 850 N San Vicente Blvd.
- Soho House Holloway – 8465 Holloway Dr.
- Sunset Tower Hotel – 8358 Sunset Blvd.
- The Charlie – 819 N Sweetzer Ave.
The MICHELIN Guide’s latest update continues its four-year overhaul of its hotel selection, spotlighting accommodations that offer more than just a place to stay, ensuring a memorable travel experience.
